Seismic Design and Analysis of an 8-Story Office Building                                                                  Aug 2019

  • Created architectural and structural building plans using AutoCAD.

  • Determined natural period, seismic loads and design forces using response spectrum method in accordance with ASCE 7-16.

  • Used ETABS to run nonlinear time history analysis, obtained the dynamic properties and analyzed the seismic responses.

Design and Analysis of a 4-Story Steel Structure                                                                                    Apr 2018

  • Performed structural design and analysis calculations of a 3-D structural steel frame using RISA-3D, considering dead, live, wind and snow loads using the LRFD approach and Direct Analysis Method.

  • Modified the analytical model to new member dimensions and repeated the process to check until codes were satisfied.

  • Run nonlinear time history analysis, checked inter-story drift, and provided detailed portions using schematic layouts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Design of a Building using REVIT                                                                                                                     Apr 2018

  • Designed a 5-story library building with glass curtainwall.

  • Created architectural and structural drawings using Revit, including structural items, detailed dimensioning and annotating.

  • Generated specific views, match lines and detailed sketches for own designs, as well as Revit sheets for use in construction.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Analysis of Buckling Capacity of a Column using MASTAN2                                                    Apr - May 2017

  • Modeled the simply-supported column using MASTAN2

  • Performed a convergence study to determine the minimum number of elements to model to get an accurate value

Structural Design of a Box Girder Highway Bridge                                                                                 Jan 2017

  • Designed a 4-lane prestressed concrete box girder highway bridge including both superstructure and substructure in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.

  • Performed structural modeling and analysis using SAP2000 and CSiBridge software package.

  • Provided full detailed report and drawings.

 

Analysis of Constant Ductility Pseudo Acceleration Response Spectra                                           Dec 2016

  • Generated constant ductility pseudo acceleration response spectra using BISPEC

  • Plotted the constant ductility pseudo acceleration versus period response spectra averaged for different ground motion records

  • Analyzed the effect of the level of ductility, damper velocity exponent on the response spectra

 

Seismic Retrofit of Concrete and Steel Highway Bridges                                                                     Dec 2016

  • Summarized the structure failure modes of concrete bridges and steel highway bridges

  • Analyzed the performance of these two types of bridges during earthquakes

Structural Design of a Parking Garage Floor System                                                                             Sep 2016

  • Completed two designs for a parking garage floor system (beams, girders, and slabs) per ACI 318-11, PCI and PTI: one using precast pre-tensioned construction and the other using the cast-in-place post-tensioned construction.

  • Prepared design drawings using AutoCAD and performed material take-off estimates of concrete and reinforcement.
